Family Time in Mittenwald

We left Bremen with lots of bags and had a fun time on the fast train to Munich.

Travelling is never without a hitch, it seems. The plane was late leaving PC, so Michelle + Joey couldn't make the connection in Atlanta. After a reroute through Paris, they landed in Munich 6 hours after the planned arrival - and of course WITHOUT BAGS! Unfortunately, they got a taste of German "service", still a bit behind the Americans. Though the bags were in country on Saturday, they wouldn't be delivered till Monday because of course, no one works on Sunday. Of course.

But we were happy to be together.

And Mittenwald is still beautiful. We woke up to a different view of the Karwendel every morning.

We took two different hikes from the house. Both lots of fun.

There was a trip to the Zugspitze, Germany's highest mountain. It would have been interesting all by itself, but we also got to hug our stomachs watching what seemed to be totally unprepared people cavorting on the small peak outsided the restaurant. Not good for the digestion.

Don't forget the simple pleasures. Card houses, chocolate ice cream (LOTS!), floating paper boats in the stream, playing cards. We had a great time and there are many, many gigabytes of pictures. Hyperlinks to follow.
