Needle Book

A bunch of years ago I bought a needle book at the local quilt show.  If I ever had a picture of it, I wouldn't know where to begin to look.  It was cute - some cross stitch in a little oval window and quilted.  But most of all, it was serviceable.  Who'd have thought??  But it was so handy - lots of different sized needles all in one place, a pin or two.

It went with me on every trip domestic and international.  It got a little worn and dirty.  And then it got lost.

It seems one doesn't always know when something goes lost.  It seems I missed it when we were in the car on a day trip, but I'm not really sure.  What's sure is, it is g o n e.

So, I needed a new one!  Of course there's a ton of stuff sitting around. Quilt?  Cross stitch?  Needlepoint?  There are a few things already done I could use - old pieces from table toppers or handkerchiefs or stitched decorative items.  But I found a picture that was inspiring, so I made my own.

I need a lot of practice on my buttonhole stitch, and the lacy flowers could be a bit more fluffy or something, but all in all, I'm pretty happy with the result.  I hope to hang on to it for a while.
