Post Christmas

The tree was reduced to a pile of needles.  It still smelled good, but poor baby was very droopy and very, very dry.  That happens when you live in a house that's heated all the time.

But it's gone now, drooping outside instead of inside and waiting for the recycling truck to take it away.

Before that, though, there was fun to be had.

Post-Christmas at René and Rima's. Goose.  Family.  What fun to see Monika and Lex again, back to Germany to see folks and take care of business and pick up all the stuff they want that you simply cannot get on an island.  I know that problem!

Amina has a Wii and here we are bowling.  Clearly Oma doesn't quite get it!

Home again, we took a walk in the cold and dark, but clear.  We can't complain if it's clear!  This picture doesn't of course capture it the way the mind does, but the old harbor is pretty with lights along the stays of the old sailing ships.  In my mind, there's a lot less clutter, more dark and more bright.  But this may serve as a reminder.
