It came and went, with a bit less fanfare than most years.
Dinner for four on Christmas Eve with dear Ursel and son Tille was just right, though Tille had to bravely face food and conversation after a very, very late night the night before.
Then Christmas arrived, beginning with a champagne breakfast for two.
And Santa Werner found some gifts for us - new jammies!
The sun was in and out during the day, but in or out, we have to get out and move. Our local Manor House looked quite nice - and quiet.
Later along the river, the sun looked more its normal self for this time of year, shrouded and not so very bright. This is HIGH NOON folks!
And standing on the balcony overlooking the river, you can see the brown lines of debris marking high water the last couple of days. It does get high in winter!
Then it was dinner again with our friends and neighbors who had visitors from Alaska (and Maine and Switzerland - it's a spread out family!) We talked and ate and played and sang and then headed back to Skype with my far away and spread-out family who I miss very much this time of year!
Now it's the Second Christmas Day (in England Boxing Day, in the USofA Head to the Mall Day) and time for us to visit Amina and celebrate some more.
Hope your Christmases were the merriest!
