Dinner

What a great dinner. Lamb shanks.

Shanks are supposed to be the left-over, end piece, what-the-poor-folks-get piece. Well, sometimes the poor folks get the good stuff. And that is definitely the case here.

The key, as with all "cheaper" cuts, is you have to cook them slowly and longly. However, "cheap" just isn't cheap any more, but that's a different story.

Maybe it's because it's spring and time for fresh lamb. Maybe it's because it's just so good, but Werner just had to have lamb this weekend. And green beans. And little potatoes. So we did.

Unfortunately, I was so busy with helping and directing and the inevitable eating that I forgot to take a picture of the beautiful meal.

This is all that was left. So you'll just have to imagine it.
