Again to Ohlendorf

Just for background info, Ohlendorf is the Dorf  (village, or maybe even smaller than village) where René, Rima and Amina have lived since they have been together and where René has lived since he was a little kid. So, home.

Visits have always been sporadic over the years, but always often.  Lately, however, I've been going to Rima for my hair care.  Sadly, my guy here around the corner seemed to go another direction with my head of hair and it didn't work with him anymore.  Rima to the rescue! I am so happy. And it is really nice to have more regular visits with our people. Good all around, I think.

So, it was time for a hair cut. Last time, we went with bikes, but this time we had a pie to take, so, CAR. It's fun to visit Renè and Rima where they work and after my cut, we went back to their house.

Opa and Amina had took turns discussing and looking at their most recent art work.

I'd found a recipe for a key lime basil pie with fresh strawberries that sounded soooo good, so that was our contribution to afternoon coffee and cake.  Mixed reviews to say the least!  I was so primed for this pie, but it failed IMHO. The basil overwhelmed the strawberries and the key lime was fighting with the basil. Rima and Amina didn't finish their servings, but René ate his and theirs and ANOTHER SLICE. I'm glad somebody liked it!

Dinner?? Pizza, homemade, of course. Rima has been growing assorted veggies this summer and the tomato sort they had a lot of was more suited to cooking than salads. It/they was/were yummy - three sorts with three different toppings.

And since I'd not taken a picture of the three of them in about forever, we did that, too! What fun!!

And then a selfie of us all. Of course the kid was in charge of that.

Sorry I don't have a pic of the Rima's chicks. They are a hoot and lay more eggs than anyone needs.  Cluck, cluck.

See you guys again soon! Next time, I will make a better pie.
