Laundry

Lots of things are smaller here in Germany - houses, apartments, refrigerators, closets. It's a long list.

The list includes washing machines.  So we wash a bit more often, but usually it's just the two of us, so no big deal.

However, smaller houses and smaller apartments often means no clothes dryer, and even with room for a dryer, most folks don't use one.  I think it has lots to do with the general frugality and "greenness" of  Germans.

We generally hang the clothes here. Our visitors get into hanging out the laundry, too.

And this week, in the living room.  It's getting too cool and the days too often gray to hang outside, so here's the solution:  a folding rack.  I've resisted one of these contraptions for years, but I think I am becoming more German.
