August Holiday

School is finally out in Lower Saxony and Bremen - a very late summer holiday this year!  As usual, Amina was here for a week, and this time with Lea.  What a great idea!  They play with each other and really take the pressure off of us to be the constant primary source of entertainment.  Besides, Lea's more fun than Oma and Opa.

We stitched and visited the manor house and the parks and did our share of eating and sleeping and watching movies.  It was fun.

After we took them home we stopped at the Bossard Kunststätte - a site where the artist attempted to integrate everything - landscape, garden, buildings, sculpture, painting - into a single whole.

The garden had a bit of everything - veggies, fruits, flowers.

The buildings and sculptures were arranged and organized and certainly, a lot of work went into the place.

But the interior was so too much.  Every surface was either painted or sculpted or carved, the floors in multicolored tiles of different sizes.  It was so confusing!

So, cross that off the list.  Once was enough. Besides, there was plenty of stuff awaiting us at home - mounds of laundry, a fridge door that refused to stay closed but most of all, quiet.  Ahhhh.
