Easter

You know it's Easter when ....

• the weather gets warmer
• the flowers start to bloom

So it's Easter, right?  ....NOT!

We've awoken several mornings to snow this week, though it doesn't stay cold enough to stick through the day.  And I really thought some mouse or grouse had eaten all my crocus bulbs because they hadn't shown up! They have now, but reluctantly. It's just still cold.

But the calendar marches on and Easter arrives regardless and as every year there are traditions to observe whether the weather cooperates or not.

Last night we went to the Easter fire, fires to push Old Man Winter out of here and back to wherever winter is so Spring can find a little space to grow. There are about 15 Osterfeuer or Easter Fires in Bremen so Old Man Winter should get the idea.  I certainly hope so.  A little Beer and Bratwurst maybe helps it along and warming your back by a fire is always good.

Today, we set the table for Easter lunch and got ready to host  Ursel.  Rack of lamb, rosemary potatoes, green beans, super fresh green salad was the menu.  After a walk, we returned for Key Lime Pudding with a strawberry rose on top.
