So after arriving unscathed in Atlanta and after a short recovery, G+B piled me in the car and we headed to Julia's. The guys watched the Braves fail to make the playoffs. You can read the depression on their faces.
Ginny and I helped a little with the very traditional southern meal Julia planned for us - fried chicken, greens, peas and beans, creamed corn, fried okra. Oh, and pecan pie for dessert. It was all perfect and perfectly wonderful.
A day later, it was time to check out some of the others. Unfortunately not all the "kids" could make it. Soccer, lacrosse, practices, games - everyone has a full schedule.
Today we met Dana and Will to go to the Atlanta Botanical Gardens, but on the way we drove through the neighborhood we lived in when Lee was born and Michelle was only three. Our then house, now painted and upgraded.
And Michelle's first friend's house, just across the street. It looks just the same.
Then a through the Gardens with Dana and Will. They had their annual Scarecrow display up for Halloween and of course the plants are always stars. We particularly enjoyed the orchids and the water lillies. But most of all, the company.
