A brief pause in the round of family visits to check in with Nancy, this time at the beach. When were we last here? I don't know, but it has been too long. I suppose it's been two years because we had seen some of the changes the hurricanes of 2007 brought about - fewer trees, flattened and repositioned dunes, narrower beach. But it's all still beautiful. 
The weather was mostly sunny, mostly warm, mostly dry and the beach was mostly empty! It isn't exactly high season, but it is a wonderful time to be here. There was time to take a couple of walks in the sand, put our toes in the water and wind enough to keep the waves whipped up a bit providing lulling noises for sleep.
A side trip to Apalach let us enjoy some raw oysters one more time at Boss Oyster and at the same time admire the pelicans and the water.
Relaxation pure.
