More Biking?

Renate and Gerd called Sunday night to ask if we'd like to bike to Fischerhude with them and Hartmut on Tuesday.  Werner groaned, so I said Sure!  We'd love to!

Hartmut and Gerd bike A LOT - in fact, Hartmut doesn't even own a car.  They were up for biking there and back, but 80K was more than we wanted to do, especially with a wind practically gusting in our faces heading there.  So we compromised and took the train to town to start.

What fantastic weather, though!  It's still low humidity and comfortable days.  Perfect.

Fischerhude is an artists' village like Worpswede, but much more bucolic and village like.  We had lunch in the Puppenhaus garden, visited the Otto Modersohn Museum, biked a bit, stopped for organic ice cream at a farm along the way, biked, stopped for a beer at a restaurant along the river, and finally made it home 10 hours and 60K after we started!
