We have a new neighbor we've not really got to know yet - Frau Giese. I'm interested in getting to know her because she sews as in SEWS - she does it for a living. Occasionally a package arrives for her and since we are often here, sometimes the package is left with us. Last week when we gave her a package that had arrived, she gave us an invitation to an Open House. An Artist. Actually two - a husband a wife; they live on the other side of the river and the invitation looked very interesting.
So after lots and lots of work around our little house today, we set off in the afternoon ( so sunny, upper 60s) on the bikes to find the Atelier. These people DO NOT HAVE A WEB SITE !? Otherwise, I would give you a link because it was lots of fun and interesting. Very.
They work in all media - wood, metal, clay, fabric, photos.
There's a fish made with scissors.
There's a globe made with lots of keys.
There's a face with a ladle.
Even boxwood becomes a source for artistic expression. Actually, I am disappointed in the pictures I have here. It was far more interesting and far more inspiring than my poor picures show. Besides that, the artists themselves offered coffee and conversation.
What a nice visit! .
