Spring , sort of

I've been busy. There was New Year's Eve with friends, a New Year's visit from friends who were returning to Berlin from holidays in the Netherlands, classes started, tests had to be given, translations done (the last two are not yet finished!), things to get ready for our big trip. But I need to write just a little something.....

It's trying to be spring. The winter, such as it was, was FAR FAR too warm and the crocuses are starting to bloom. These are in our back where they don't yet get any direct sun - some that get more sun are already open! But it's nice to see a little color, even if it is a bit weird in regard to timing. It has also been wet wet wet and gray gray gray.

And it was Mutti's birthday Friday - 91 years old. Here she is raising a glass of champagne with us. René and Amina came over for a quick hello, Christoph and Tina came in after work, and Tina's parents came, too. Of course there were many many phone calls from friends and relatives.

Now we're off to our only Kohl und Pinkel dinner of the year - like I said, it's been much too warm. This is best done in the snow but we'll have to settle for windy and 45°.
